Catalonia is a region with a great culinary tradition, and its capital, Barcelona, is a prime example. In typical Catalan cuisine, ingredients from both the mountainous interior and sea products from the coast are used, dishes called mar y muntanya, in which these ingredients are skilfully mixed to obtain very tasty dishes. Among the various Spanish regional cuisines, Catalan is the one with the greatest foreign influences, especially from neighboring France and Italy, so it is easy to find many similarities with our own cuisine.

Catalan cuisine has very complex roots, and has experienced the influence of various influences over the centuries: the passage of the Greeks, the Romans, and subsequent Italian and French influences. For this reason, elements common to other cuisines appear such as the Mediterranean, famous for its healthy characteristics.

Many of you may be wondering why we recommend an Italian restaurant in Barcelona… Maybe it will be homesickness or the thousands of comments from tourists asking us where to eat something Italian. Eating at the Spaccanapoli restaurant is like feeling at home, in a simple and welcoming environment. Here you can try different dishes of Mediterranean and Neapolitan cuisine: meatballs with sauce, pasta with potatoes, paccheri allo scoglio, fried zucchini flowers and the inevitable Pizza (in our opinion one of the best in Barcelona). What can I say, if you are nostalgic and you always miss Italian cuisine wherever you go, then think of us and go and eat at Spaccanapoli.

Salamanco

Salamanca restaurant is one of the most iconic in the city. It is located in the heart of Barceloneta, right on the beach, and is ‘famous for the quality’ of its fish dishes and for its famous paella. Here you can taste the specialties of Spanish cuisine just a stone’s throw from the sea. A destination for thousands of tourists every year, it often also hosts famous people, such as footballers or TV personalities.

Patagonia

It is one of the best Argentine meat restaurants in the whole city. In a welcoming and elegant setting you can enjoy different types of meat, paired with excellent wines. The average expense is around 30/40 euros per person. A must for all meat lovers.

Disco bar located next to the Barcelona casino, in the Olympic port, adjacent to the area with the best clubs and discos in the city. Opened in 1999, this Irish pub is undoubtedly one of the best in town. It is located in the heart of the Gothic quarter and is characterized by a friendly and carefree environment, where in addition to being able to drink and relax with friends, you can enjoy fun activities such as billiards and darts or watch football matches on a large screen. Always very popular, it is certainly a great place to meet new people and be in company.
